Need for the Course
Healthy People 2020 is much different from the 1990, 2000 and 2010 editions. Healthy People 2020 is more than just a compendium of illnesses and diseases and objectives. In addition to the objectives it has tools and resources for planning, implementing, tracking, evaluating and sustaining interventions to achieve a healthier Nation. Healthy People 2020 focuses on applying the ecological approach to address determinants of health and shows how to find and use both evidence-based clinical and evidence-based public health actions.
The Department of Health and Human Services wants tools and resources for Healthy People stakeholders – professionals, advocates. funders and decision makers – who will be using Healthy People to improve the health of the Nation. This course will help stakeholders understand, implement and market Healthy People 2020.
