Need for the Course

Public and community health reaches beyond medicine or health. Improving the health of all Americans requires collaboration of a health workforce, health and non-health sectors, and stakeholders guided by a strategic agenda. The agenda should include a vision, mission, goals and objectives with targets, leading health indicators; a plan of action with evidence-based interventions; and implementation and evaluation tools and resources.

Adapted from the Charter of the Secretary’s Advisory Committee on National Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Objectives for 2030 and Healthy People 2030 Framework.
